Brody Klinge produced the best performance of the 2025 Dabble Darts ANZ Premier League so far to dispatch Raymond Smith 5-3 and win Night Four in Hobart.
The Melbourne ace threw eight 180s and averaged 104.65 in the decider to pocket the weekly $2,000 prize, which sees him jump from seventh to third in the standings with three weeks remaining before Finals Night.
Klinge was at his brilliant best throughout the night, kicking off proceedings with a 100.65 average in a 5-2 win over Tim Pusey, before backing that up with a gutsy 5-4 victory against James Bailey in the semi-finals.
However, his exploits in the Night Four final at the MyState Bank Arena will have the rest of the competitors on high alert, after he became the fourth different winner in as many weeks, joining Jonny Tata, Smith and Ben Robb in the winner’s circle.
“I'm just happy I can play my own game on the stage,” Klinge said. “I'm so relieved.
“I know I can do it now. I just have to keep playing my own game and battling away. It's a tough field.”
Smith has extended his lead at the top of the ANZ Premier League standings to six points after reaching his third final in the space of four weeks to move on to 13 points.
Robb and Klinge are level on seven points in second and third spots respectively, while Tata is in a three-way tie for fourth on five points, although his win on Night One sees him occupy the last Play-Off spot.
Smith, however, was slightly disappointed not to come away with his second nightly win, having followed up comfortable victories over Simon Whitlock and Robb with a 98.03 average in the final.
“I averaged 98. I'm probably winning just about every tournament in the world with that, but tonight it was not good enough,” Smith reflected.
“I’ll cop that on the chin. I think I’ve got a little bit more left in the tank, but it just shows how good this Premier League is.”
In the evening’s earlier quarter-finals, Whitlock survived match darts and reeled off three consecutive legs to defeat Tata 5-4, while Bailey beat the struggling Joe Comito 5-2.
The ANZ Premier League action continues next weekend at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, headlined by a top four showdown between Klinge and Tata, while Whitlock faces Pusey, Smith squares off against Comito and Robb and Bailey battle in a repeat of the Night Three final.
The Dabble Darts ANZ Premier League is being broadcast on Fox Sports and Kayo Sports in Australia and Sky Sport in New Zealand, with live coverage also available on PDCTV to Rest of the World Subscribers.
