ROSS SMITH began his PDC career in 2005, making his debut in the Vauxhall Spring Open where he reached the last 16.
Following a spell in the BDO, in January 2012 Smith earned a Tour Card through the qualifiers Order of Merit, and went on to qualify for three of five European Tour events that year.
In 2013 Smith famously threw a nine-dart finish in the second round of the Gibraltar Darts Trophy against Adrian Lewis, a feat which would not be repeated on the European Tour for over five years.
Smith competed in the 2013 Grand Slam of Darts and the 2013/14 World Championship, but after a difficult 2015 campaign, he returned to Q School in January 2016 where he won back his Tour Card.
Following a break from the sport, Smith returned to the PDC circuit in January 2018, once again winning back his Tour Card at Q School.
Smith made it to the 2018/19 World Championship, where he defeated Singapore legend Paul Lim, before losing to Daryl Gurney in round two.
In March 2019, Smith enjoyed his biggest payday to date as he reached the quarter-finals of the UK Open, defeating Alan Norris, Steve West and James Wade on the way, before going down to eventual champion Nathan Aspinall.
