Geert Nentjes was the victor in Event Ten of the Winmau Development Tour on Sunday to conclude the weekend's action at the Robin Park Tennis Centre.

The Dutchman was on fire throughout the day in Wigan as he claimed a third Development Tour title, including a tournament-high 100.93 average in fourth of eight wins in the event.

It was a bright start for Nentjes, who looked comfortable in his first match, easing past Felix Kleeberg with a 4-0 win.

Next came a match against compatriot Daan Bastiaansen, who forced a last-leg decider which Nentjes overcame to reach the last 64.

Then came another 4-0 whitewash, this time over fellow Dutchman Maikel Verberk, before Nentjes produced that stunning ton-plus average, beating Czech Tomas Houdek 4-2 in the process.

His last 16 win was equally as impressive with yet another match won in the deciding leg, this time against Kevin Doets.

He saw off Welshman Lewy Williams 5-3 in the quarter-finals, before a comfortable 5-1 win over Gian van Veen sent him to the final.

Here, the left-hander met a Dutchman of the day in Jitse Van der Wal, who he overcame with minimum of fuss as a second 5-1 win in a row saw him crowned champion.

Despite Nentjes' impressive display, the highlight of the day's action came from another Dutch prospect as Doets hit a nine-darter in his third round tie against Wesley Veenstra.

Van Veen was joined in the semi-finals by Gibraltar's Craig Galliano, while Event Nine winner Nathan Girvan was a quarter-finalist on Sunday.

Event Ten concluded the weekend's action, with the Winmau Development Tour set to return with the third weekend of 2022 from June 3-5 in Hildesheim, Germany.

The winner of the 2022 Development Tour Order of Merit will win a PDC Tour Card for 2023-24 and a place in the 2022/23 World Championship.
