A brand new trophy has been revealed ahead of the Paddy Power World Darts Championship at the Alexandra Palace – the Ballon d'Art.

The prestigious Sid Waddell Trophy will of course remain the supreme accolade for the tournament's eventual champion, but the new World Championship sponsors have created an additional mammoth trophy for the player who scores the most 180s during the showpiece event.

The new award, probably the biggest darts trophy on the planet, is the latest addition to THE BIG 180 Campaign, which will see Paddy Power donate £1,000 to Prostate Cancer UK for every maximum scored during the 2023/24 World Darts Championship.

Standing at almost one metre in height and weighing in at 16kgs, the Ballon d'Art will celebrate the player who raises the most money for the charity, which also aims to encourage 180,000 men across the UK to complete Prostate Cancer UK’s online risk checker.

If you’re attending the Paddy Power World Darts Championship you can join in the fun games and activities in the event Fan Village – and at the same time support THE BIG 180 and Prostate Cancer UK. Plus you’ll have the chance to pick up some great prizes.
Activities include
• Beat The Pro
• Three Bullseye Challenge
• Spin The Wheel
• Commentary Challenge

So head into to the Fan Village to get involved.

2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the first PDC World Championship, and the inaugural winner Dennis Priestley is backing THE BIG 180 – to save men’s live across the UK.

Affectionately known as ‘The Menace’ the Mexborough native was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2007.

Since then, he has championed the work of Prostate Cancer UK – and as part of The BIG 180 is encouraging all darts fans to complete the Prostate Cancer UK online risk-checker – or share it with a dad, grandad, brother or friend at higher risk.
