Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship PDPA Qualifiers

THE draw for the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship PDPA Qualifiers, to be held at the Telford International Centre on Saturday December 6.

Eight players will qualify for the World Championship from the tournament - which last year produced eventual runner-up Kirk Shepherd.

Ireland's Mick McGowan is the number one seed, with American ace Gary Mawson, the UK Open runner-up in June, seeded two.

Mawson is joined in travelling from the United States by John Kuczynski, Isen Veljic and Chris White, while Czech Republic star Miloslav Navratil, Denmark's Jann Hoffman and Japan's Masahiko Sano will also compete in Telford.

Former World Champion Richie Burnett will be joined in the 170-strong field by 2001 World Grand Prix winner Alan Warriner-Little and former World Championship semi-finalists Dave Askew and Dennis Smith.

Number 15 seed Chris Thompson faces a tough opening game, taking on Stoke's Mark Frost, who qualified for the World Matchplay earlier this year.

All games will be the best of nine legs, and the tournament begins at 12pm.

The first round draw for the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship will be made on Monday December 8, live on Sky Sports News at 2.30pm.
