Great Response For Youth Events

OVER 100 players have entered the first PDC Unicorn Youth Tour event in Derby.

The PDC have seen a great response from young players since announcing the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour last month, with 15 tournaments being held during 2011 plus the World Youth Championship.

The events, open to players aged 14-21, carry £2,000 prize money with £600 to the winner and prize money from the last 16 onwards, with all prize money won going towards an Order of Merit.

Tournaments on the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour will be limited to 128 players per event to reflect Players Championships on the PDC ProTour.

Over 100 players have already entered for the first tournament, in Derby on February 19.

Entry to each event will cost £25 - at present entries are only being taken for the first two events, to be held in Derby on February 19 and Barnsley on February 26.

Players must call the PDC Head Office on 08712 501 180 to make their entry and receive an entry number to confirm their entry, with payment to be made in person when registering at an event before 4pm on that respective day.

Entry will be open from 9am-5pm on Monday-Friday, and entries for the Derby event will close at 5pm on Friday February 18 or when the field of 128 is reached.

All games will be played under DRA rules. Players must be aged 14 or above, and 21 and under on January 3 2011 to be eligible to play in the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour events.
