TERRY JENKINS believes a good start is important when he faces James Wade in the 888.com Premier League Darts in Glasgow on Thursday.
Jenkins picked up his first victory since the opening week of the season when he overcame Mark Webster 8-4 in Manchester last week, leading 7-2 at one stage in a fine display.
He is bidding to defeat Wade for the first time in the Premier League Darts when they clash in Glasgow, and he admits that a strong start is important in his bid for a second successive two-pointer.
"I need to stay relaxed and not put myself under too much pressure," said Jenkins. "James, in a way, is the same as me in the Premier League and has been inconsistent, although I've been playing quite well in the last couple of weeks.
"It was disappointing to lose in week four with the way I played against Simon Whitlock but I wasn't put off too much and I improved again when I played Mark last week.
"It was a good win against him, especially with the way he's been playing recently. I was a bit more determined against Mark and stayed relaxed, and tried to stay focused.
"Even when I got my seventh leg last week against Mark and knew I'd got at least a draw I didn't celebrate or ease off because I knew I had to push on and get the win.
"I've been in some good form recently and if I can get a good start against James it will be important."
