DAVE PRINS is the penultimate Rileys Qualifier for the Speedy Hire UK Open, having won Thursday's Rileys Sunderland knockout.
Prins, a 42-year-old from Peterlee, defeated Paul Clark 3-2 to win the final of the Rileys Sunderland Qualifier, seeing him win the 31st of 32 events held in Rileys Darts Zones across the UK this month.
A former Czech Open and Isle of Man Open winner, he has also played twice in the Lakeside Championship but will be making his UK Open debut at the Reebok Stadium in June.
Prins had overcome Billy Todd in the quarter-finals in Sunderland, and repeated the scoreline in a 3-1 semi-final win over Michael Wood, a youngster who competes on the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour.
The final Rileys Qualifier will be held at the Rileys Cardiff club on May 1, with the 32 Rileys Qualifiers joining 32 Speedy Hire Qualifiers and the top 96 professional players in June's UK Open.
