THE Professional Darts Corporation can confirm that the 2012 World Matchplay will be held from July 21-29.
The tournament will be held a week later in the calendar than this year so as not to clash with The Open golf championship, which will be held in nearby Lytham St Annes.
The 2012 World Matchplay will begin on Saturday July 21 and be played through to the final on Sunday July 29.
Tickets are expected to go on sale in early 2012.
The full PDC calendar of events for 2012 is expected to be announced in September.
