Taylor & Lewis Enjoy Embassy Visit

THE world's top two darts players, Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis, enjoyed a special visit to the British Embassy in Berlin ahead of the German Darts Championship on Friday.

Taylor, the 15-time World Champion, and reigning World Champion Lewis were special guests at a reception at the British Embassy, having been invited as part of the GREAT campaign, an initiative launched by Prime Minister David Cameron to promote the UK in the Diamond Jubilee and Olympic year.

The pair presented a Unicorn dartboard to Ambassador Simon McDonald as part of the visit, before joining staff members for a game of darts in their games room at the Embassy.

The players included Deputy Head of Mission Andrew Noble, who enjoyed a leg against Phil Taylor but was unable to defeat the Stoke star.

"It was great to be given such a great welcome by both the Ambassador and all the staff at the British Embassy," said world number one Taylor. "The visit gave us a great insight into the work done here by the staff at the Embassy.

"It's good to know that we have their support as we go into this tournament. And now that they have a new board, some of them should be able to work on their darts skills!"

Lewis added: "All the Embassy staff gave us a great reception and it was lovely to see the interest they had in darts and how excited they were for the tournament to be in Berlin."
