Can The Machine Stop The Power?
It's the final most fans wanted. The two outstanding darts players in the world will duke it out for the World Matchplay title at the end of a great week at the Winter Gardens.

Sunday nights don't come much better. Nor do darts players come any stronger than Phil Taylor. The Power, who is a short-priced favourite and rightly so, will win his fifth consecutive Matchplay title tonight if he can beat James Wade.

It's hard to get Taylor's achievements into perspective while he's still racking them up, and it's difficult to bet against him when he's in as rampant form as he has been in his last couple of matches.

But 'The Machine' has lived up to his nickname this week with some brilliant performances against some very gifted darts players. James will push Taylor all the way.

This game is all about Wade; if he plays to his best, he has a chance of dethroning The Power. If he's slightly off, Phil will win with some in hand.

Following an uncertain second round performance, Phil has changed back to his old faithfuls. The short stint using new darts produced a strange display against Ian White and you could tell from the way the darts were landing on the board that something was up.

That's now been rectified and Phil looks like the Power of a few months ago when he won the Premier League at a canter.

James Wade has starred this week but I'm afraid I'd be mad to go against Taylor. So I recommend the Power to cover the handicap.
