Q School Entries Open

ENTRIES are still being taken for the 2013 PDC ProTour Qualifying School.

The third Qualifying School will be held from January 17-20 at the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan, with players competing across four days in their bid to compete full-time on the PDC ProTour.

The top 64 players from the PDC Order of Merit following the 2013 Ladbrokes World Darts Championship will retain their Tour Card, along with the 2012 Tour Card Holders and a number of Tour Card invitations, such as the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour Order of Merit winner.

Full confirmation of the players who have retained Tour Cards will be confirmed on Monday January 7

The remaining places to fill up the 128 Tour Cards will be on offer to the Qualifying School's winners across the four days of action in Wigan.

Dave Chisnall was the stand-out performer following the inaugural Qualifying School in 2011, reaching the world's top 32 inside a year and rising up to 13th in the PDC Order of Merit so far in 2012.

Dean Winstanley was amongst the players who won Tour Cards this January, and he has since competed in both the Speedy Services UK Open and qualified for the Betfair World Matchplay, where he knocked out world number four Gary Anderson.

Other stars who have won Tour Cards since Qualifying School was introduced two years ago include South Africa's World Cup star Devon Petersen, Belgium's Kurt Van De Rijck and James Richardson, who capped his first year on the professional circuit by knocking Raymond van Barneveld out of the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship.

Entry to Qualifying School costs £200, and can be made via the PDPA website at http://www.pdpa.co.uk/about/membership/

Entries are being taken until 12pm on January 15 2013.

Players who compete in Qualifying School but do not win a Tour Card will become PDPA Associate Members, entitling them to play in all UK Open Qualifiers, European Tour Qualifiers and non-UK Players Championships, as well as in UK-based Players Championship events (in ranking order) should all 128 Tour Card Holders not enter.

Please Note: Players must be aged 16 or above on January 17 2013 to be eligible to compete in Qualifying School.
