Ladbrokes' 180 Charity Challenge!

LADBROKES are giving their support to the PDC's official charity, Haven House Children's Hospice, by donating £10 per 180 in the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship - and have pledged to double the total if a new record is set on New Year's Day!

Haven House Children's Hospice, based in Woodford Green, Essex, cares for young people up to the age of 19 with life-limiting conditions, and provide a range of support services for families.

Fans attending the Ladbrokes World Championship can take part in a special Charity Challenge in the Fans Village at Alexandra Palace, throwing six darts to score as many points as possible - with great prizes on offer for the daily winners.

Tournament sponsors Ladbrokes have now pledged their backing with a unique sponsorship which will see them donate £10 per 180 thrown in the tournament - with 71 games set to be played over 15 days.

Ladbrokes have also pledged to double the donation should last year's record total of 588 - which increased from 554 in the 2011 event - be passed, meaning that Haven House could be in line for a £12,000 boost in the New Year should 600 maximums be landed.

"This is a wonderful gesture by Ladbrokes in support of Haven House," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.

"Haven House are a wonderful charity and they make a huge difference to the lives of many children and their families, so all the players who step onto the oche over the next 15 days can play their part in raising money for them.

"It's up to the players now to do the business on the oche, and I know every 180 that they hit will receive a massive cheer!"

Haven House chief executive Mike Palfreman said: "We are extremely grateful to Ladbrokes for sponsoring Haven House Children's Hospice through the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship.

"The money raised from Ladbrokes' sponsorship and our partnership with the PDC will support hundreds of children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families, so every 180 will make a difference!"
