Finnan & McGarry Reach Irish Decider

CONNIE FINNAN and Colin McGarry will contest the final of the Tom Kirby Memorial Irish Matchplay championship next month at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin.

The pair won through Saturday's early rounds of the event at O'Shea's Hotel in Tramore, which featured over 120 players, to earn their places in the final, which will precede the partypoker.com World Grand Prix final on Sunday October 13.

Finnan is bidding to win the tournament for a second time, having won the 2011 event with a 6-4 defeat of Shane O'Connor in the final.

Finnan went on to join the PDC circuit full-time following that triumph, with the winner progressing to play in the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship.

McGarry, meanwhile, is bidding to earn his first win in the event, which see him earn a return to the World Championship, having competed in the 2004 event where he defeated Rory Orvis and Mark Holden before losing to Phil Taylor.

2012 runner-up Campbell Jackson and 2008 finalist Garrett Gray were losing semi-finalists in Tramore, with Paul Boyle, Darrell Hodgson, Martin Carvill and Philip Boyce reaching the last eight.

Tickets for the partypoker.com World Grand Prix are still available, either online through http://pdc.seetickets.com or by calling 0844 871 8807 (UK) or 0044 114 223 9817.
