Webster Takes Irish Masters Win

DARREN WEBSTER warmed up for the Players Championship double-header in Killarney with victory in Friday night's Ladbrokes Irish Masters.

The Norfolk ace picked up the €5,000 first prize with a 6-2 defeat of Joe Cullen in the final of the tournament, which was the curtain-raiser for the Killarney Darts Festival.

Webster's run included an impressive whitewash of Gary Anderson on his way to the title, while Cullen saw off resurgent Wayne Jones and World Youth Championship finalist Ricky Evans before enjoying a narrow semi-final win over Scott Rand.

Jones was joined in the quarter-finals by Dutch pair Vincent van der Voort and Jelle Klaasen, with Mick Todd also winning through to the last eight, while Belgian brothers Kim and Ronny Huybrechts won through to the last 16.
