Ladbrokes Support Haven House

LADBROKES will again support the PDC's official charity, Haven House Children's Hospice, with a £10 donation for every 180 thrown during the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship - and will double the total should a new record for maximums be set in the 2014 event.

Haven House Children's Hospice, based in Woodford Green, Essex, cares for young people up to the age of 19 with life-limiting conditions, and provide a range of support services for families.

Fans attending the Ladbrokes World Championship can take part in a special Charity Challenge in the Fans Village at Alexandra Palace, throwing six darts to score as many points as possible - with tickets for the World Championship final on offer for the player with the highest score.

Tournament sponsors Ladbrokes have again pledged their backing with a unique sponsorship which will see them donate £10 per 180 thrown in the tournament - with 71 games set to be played over 16 days at Ally Pally.

Ladbrokes have also pledged to double the donation should the record total of 588 - set in 2012 - be passed, meaning that Haven House could be in line for a £12,000 boost in the New Year should 600 maximums be landed!

"We thank Ladbrokes again for their wonderful support of Haven House Children's Hospice," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn. "This is the second successive year that Ladbrokes have made a donation of £10 per 180, and their backing is invaluable.

"Haven House make an incredible difference to the lives of young children and their families, and they have already benefitted greatly from their partnership with the PDC in the past two years.

"However, with the support of Ladbrokes and the skill of the 72 darts stars who are taking to the oche in the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship, this will be another great boost for the wonderful work Haven House do.

"Given that we've had two nine-darters already in the opening couple of days in the tournament, I think the event's record could well be under threat over the next couple of weeks!"

The PDC's link-up with Haven House Children's Hospice has included the release of the charity single 'Got My Ticket For The Darts', as well as a special fundraising dinner with Phil Taylor in London earlier in 2013.
