PDC Unicorn World Youth Champs Update

THE field of international qualifiers for the PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship has been completed ahead of Saturday's Last 64 in Reading, with two places to be on offer in Friday night's Qualifier.

Alongside the top 48 players aged from 16-21 from the final 2013 PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour Order of Merit, a series of International Qualifiers have also won through to compete in the World Youth Championship.

The qualification series was completed by European-based events as Italy's Vincenzo Masciarelli, Dutchman Mike Zuydwijk - a Youth Tour winner last weekend - German pair Justin Webers and Marin Schindler and Austria's Fredi Gsellmann secured places in the Last 64.

With two players from the original top 50 of players who qualified for the PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship not competing in Reading on Saturday, a pair of spots will be available in Friday night's open qualifier.

Entries for the PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship Qualifier closed at 12pm on Friday, with the Qualifier open to any player aged from 16-21 - no entries can be made on the night.

Registration will be 4.30pm-6pm and play will start at 7pm, with all games the best of 11 legs. No prize money will be paid out in the Qualifier, with players who progress to play in the Last 64 guaranteed £250.

To be eligible to compete in this Qualifier, players must have been aged between 16-21 on January 1 2014.

Saturday's PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship Last 64 will be followed by PDC Unicorn Youth Tour Event 4. Entries for this event are still available until 2pm on Friday April 4 and cost £25 through the PDC Online Entry System.

Sunday will see PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour Event 4 take place, with entries also still open until 2pm on Friday April 4 and costing £50 for PDPA Associate Members through the PDC Online Entry System.
