Unibet To Sponsor The Unibet Masters

UNIBET TO SPONSOR THE UNIBET MASTERS/TICKET INFORMATION CONFIRMED

THE PDC are delighted to announce a new partnership with Unibet as the sponsors of The Unibet Masters, which will be held at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh on November 1-2.

The tournament will feature the leading 16 players from the PDC Order of Merit competing across two days live on ITV4 in a knockout event, with last year's inaugural Masters being won by Phil Taylor.

Taylor is set to defend his title this November against rivals who include World Champion Michael van Gerwen, last year's Masters runner-up Adrian Lewis and Australian star Simon Whitlock, the world number four.

Three Scottish players are set to compete on home soil, with world number five Peter Wright and world number nine Robert Thornton - who both competed last year - joined by resurgent Gary Anderson, who has jumped back up to seventh in the PDC Order of Merit during a brilliant 2014 so far.

James Wade, Dave Chisnall, Andy Hamilton, Wes Newton, Brendan Dolan, Mervyn King, Ian White, Raymond van Barneveld and Kim Huybrechts are the other current members of the PDC's top 16.

However, with two European Tour events coming up in September, the World Grand Prix at the start of October and six Players Championship events to come ahead of the cut-off for The Unibet Masters on October 21, there is still the chance for players outside of the top 16 - including Justin Pipe, Terry Jenkins, Kevin Painter, Jamie Caven and Steve Beaton - to jump up the rankings.

"It gives us great pleasure to welcome Unibet as our new title sponsors for The Unibet Masters, and we look forward to another hugely successful event in Edinburgh in November," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.

"The Unibet Masters pits the world's top 16 players against each other and will prove just who really is the best of the best!"

Unibet Head of Sportsbook Erik Backlund said: "We are delighted to be working alongside the PDC, who have done great work to increase the popularity of darts.

"This is a great opportunity to grow awareness of our product in in the darts community."
