Stars Set For Charity Fishing Day

STARS of the PDC will swap their darts for fishing rods on Friday September 12 in a charity fishing day to raise money for Haven House Children's Hospice.

The PDC Invitational Fishing Contest will be held at Shepherds Way Lake in Brookmans Park in Hertfordshire, with some of the PDC's biggest names joined by stars from the snooker and boxing worlds for the event.

Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis will head the field of PDC players in the event, alongside Mervyn King, Steve Brown, Ronnie Baxter, Stephen Bunting, Richie Howson and last year's winner of the fishing event, Darren Webster.

PDC Walk-On Girl Daniella Allfree is set to try her luck at fishing for charity, with former World Matchplay champion Rod Harrington also in action.

PDC Chairman Barry Hearn will also be picking up his rods, along with former World Snooker Champion Steve Davis, former boxers Glenn McCrory, Spencer Oliver, Nicky Cook and current British Super-Middleweight Champion Paul Smith.

The day will commence with the anglers throwing darts to select their lake positions, before competing to catch the biggest weight of fish throughout the event.

The event - to be filmed by Sky Sports - will also allow fans to attend, with proceeds being raised for Haven House Children's Hospice, the PDC's Official Charity.

Tickets cost £6 and can be purchased through www.jbdsportsagents.co.uk/fishingcomp.php, with food and drink also available throughout the day. Gates open at 9am.
