SIX PDC ProTour events remain before the field for July's BetVictor World Matchplay is finalised - with recent Players Championship winners Keegan Brown and Joe Murnan in line for debuts in the tournament.
The 32-player summer spectacular will take place at Blackpool's Winter Gardens from July 18-26, with Phil Taylor bidding to continue his incredible record of success.
Taylor has won the title 15 times, including an amazing seven successive titles since 2008, as he aims for an eighth straight World Matchplay victory this summer.
Taylor will be one of the 16 seeded players for the tournament, with a further 16 qualifiers coming from the One-Year ProTour Order of Merit.
A total of six tournaments remain before the cut-off on Monday July 6, with four Players Championships and two European Tour events to come as players jostle for positions.
The victories by Keegan Brown and Joe Murnan in winning their first Players Championship titles have seen them jump into the current qualifying places.
Emerging Welsh ace Gerwyn Price and Dutch youngster Benito van de Pas are also in line to make their World Matchplay debuts by virtue of their form on the PDC ProTour.
The provisional top 16 from the main Order of Merit currently sees Gary Anderson overtake Phil Taylor to claim second place in the world rankings by the time of the event, while Vincent van der Voort and Michael Smith are battling for a top 16 place - although both still qualify via the ProTour rankings.
The rise of Brown and Murnan has edged both Kevin Painter and Mark Webster out of the qualification places, with Blackpool's Ronnie Baxter and Fleetwood's Wes Newton also in line to miss out on their "local" major at present.
Tickets for the BetVictor World Matchplay are still available and can be purchased from the Winter Gardens Box Office in person, by calling 0844 856 111 or online via the Winter Gardens Website.
