CHENHAO LI won Stage Six of the PDC's affiliated circuit in China as the battle to win spots in the inaugural Shanghai Darts Masters continued in Chongqing.
The 36-player event was the third of four Stages which will provide players for the Shanghai Darts Masters Qualifier on June 24.
Li's route to the final included a victory over Zhenquan Gu in the last 16, a narrow defeat of Wenqing Liu in the quarter-finals and a straight sets defeat of Zhining Liao in the semi-finals.
He then defeated Xuejie Huang - a World Cup representative for China in 2015 - in straight sets in the final, winning both sets 3-1 as he took victory.
Huang had won in straight sets in his quarter-final defeat of Xiaohua Chen and in the semi-finals against Bin Ling, before being defeated in the final.
The semi-finalists of Stage Six, plus Wenqing Liu and Ruibin Xie, now progress to compete in on Friday June 24 in the Shanghai Darts Masters Qualifier.
They are joined by six players from Stages Four and Five respectively, and a further six players who will come from Stage Seven in Shanghai on Thursday June 23.
The Shanghai Darts Masters will be held on June 25-26 at the Pullman Hotel Shanghai South, with Singapore's Paul Lim and Hong Kong duo Ting Chi Royden Lam and Scott Mackenzie having been invited to compete in the inaugural World Series of Darts event.
