Wedding Delight For Dolan

BRENDAN DOLAN prepared for the Unibet World Grand Prix with arguably the biggest day of his life - as he married partner Teresa on Wednesday!.

The Northern Irish ace has held fond memories of this time of year since creating history with a nine-dart finish at the 2011 World Grand Prix during his run to the final.

However, he will also be able to celebrate his wedding anniversary too after tying the knot with Teresa ahead of his forthcoming appearance on the big stage at the Citywest Hotel.

Dolan will be involved in Players Championship events on Friday and Saturday before beginning his Unibet World Grand Prix challenge on Monday evening against Peter Wright.

"It was a perfect day," Dolan told www.pdc.tv. "Alongside our own families there was a great family of players and supporters from the darts world who turned out that we're close to.

"We arranged the wedding for this time of year to tie in before the World Grand Prix so that people could go to the Citywest afterwards. It was lovely that people made such an effort and hopefully they enjoyed themselves.

"With all the excitement in my life at present, there will maybe be less pressure on my shoulders and I can relax a little bit.

"I suppose darts has taken a bit of a back seat over the last month or two with the preparations for the wedding but I've given every event my best shot and I'll continue to do that.

"It's an exciting time in my life and darts is a major part of that. Sometimes with no pressure and expectation you can just go up and enjoy yourself, and that's when your best darts can come out."

Dolan's clash with Wright will be one of the highlights of the first round in Dublin, and he is eager to get on stage on Monday evening.

"Peter's the number five in the world and playing well at the moment so he'll be hard to beat, but the format is short and a lot of it is about coming out of the blocks quickly and putting pressure on your opponent," added Dolan.

"If I can do that then I'll have a good chance, but I know that will be Peter's aim too. I expect it to be a good game and I'm looking forward to it.

"Whatever happens, I'll have the support of my wife for the first time!"
