THE PDC's growth across Germany will continue in 2019 as Cologne stages a World Series of Darts event for the first time.

Following on from last year's world record crowd of 20,210 at FC Schalke's Veltins Arena, the 2019 German Darts Masters will see darts fans flock to Cologne's LANXESS Arena as the city hosts a televised PDC event for the first time.

This year, the tournament will revert to a two-day event and be held from July 12-13, as eight top PDC players take on eight leading German aces in a Summer darting spectacle.

Peter Wright was the inaugural German Darts Masters champion when the World Series of Darts first visited Germany in 2017.

Mensur Suljovic then took last year’s title in Gelsenkirchen, defeating Dimitri Van den Bergh to conclude a record-breaking day.

This year’s event will see the eight first round ties take place on Friday July 12, before the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final are held on Saturday July 13.
