Van Gerwen Odds-On for Five in a Row With BetVictor

Michael van Gerwen (PDC)

MICHAEL VAN GERWEN is the 4/7 pre-tournament favourite ahead of this weekend's 2019 BetVictor Masters in Milton Keynes.

World Champion Van Gerwen has been the Masters champion for the last four years in Milton Keynes, and plays debutant Jonny Clayton in Friday's opening night at the Marshall Arena.

Following the withdrawal of Gary Anderson - previously the second favourite - with a back injury, Van Gerwen is now 4/7 with BetVictor to take the £60,000 title on Sunday night.

World Championship finalist Michael Smith is the 7/1 second favourite, with world number two Rob Cross rated at 9/1 and Peter Wright 12/1 as they challenge for the Masters title.

World number 17 Stephen Bunting, who replaces Anderson in the field, is rated 66/1 to turn his unexpected call-up into a first PDC televised title.
