Record 29 nations involved in 2020/21 World Championship

Alexandra Palace (Lawrence Lustig, PDC)

A record total of 29 countries will be represented at the 2020/21 William Hill World Darts Championship.

The expansion of the World Championship to 96 players in 2018/19 had seen 28 nations competing at Alexandra Palace in the past two years.

However, that total increases to 29 for this year's event, creating a new record despite the global pandemic during 2020.

Alongside 35 players from England and 11 from the Netherlands, there will be four players apiece from Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Australia.

Northern Ireland, Belgium and Germany each provide three players this year, while South Africa and China have two players in the event for the first time.
