OChE Form Guide

#1 Averages - Dave Chisnall
#1 OChE - Rob Cross
#1 Doubles - Rob Cross
#1 171-180 - Dave Chisnall
#1 99, 101+ Checkout - Matt Campbell

Dave Chisnall, with a large lead of nearly 1.5 points over his nearest rival (Ryan Searle), has recorded the highest average of any player over their last 200 legs.

But that advantage would nonetheless win him fewer legs than one would expect from his rival and countryman Rob Cross.

Long-time averages leader Michael van Gerwen is ranked only seventh, and there are more than 25 players ahead of world #1 Peter Wright and world #2 Gerwyn Price on this metric in the past several weeks.

The HOMER enhanced ranking system's #1, Michael Smith, is still a top 10 player in both OChE and averages, but his averages have fallen 3.5 points relative to late May and he is now only the 22nd best doubles hitter.

Six players are currently playing at a standard which would allow them to win more than 60% of their legs on the ProTour - two of them were the finalists of the Dutch Darts Masters.

Dimitri Van den Bergh in particular experienced one of the largest improvements relative to one month ago; his OChE rating has risen from 53.1 to 60.6 on the basis of his back-to-back wins on the World Series.

Cross' 48% accuracy on the doubles leads the PDC; on top of seven 100+ averages in his last ten Players Championship matches.

Despite no titles thus far in 2022, Cross has an excellent claim to be considered the #1 form player in the world, even if he trails Chisnall in points scored per visit.

Another fast-ascending player with excellent marks for doubles accuracy is Martin Lukeman, the #3 doubles hitter over the past 200 legs, who is showing no signs of slowing down after reaching a European Tour final and now has a higher OChE rating than Premier League semi-finalists Jonny Clayton and Joe Cullen.
