Gary Anderson continued his superb form to complete a European Tour qualification double on Tuesday, after winning through both Tour Card Holder Qualifiers in Hildesheim.
Tour Card Holder Qualifiers for ET7-8 took place at Halle 39 on Tuesday, with each qualifier producing 24 players for each event.
The Belgian Darts Open (ET7) will be held at the Oktoberhallen, Wieze, from May 5-7, while the Czech Darts Open (ET8) is set to take place at the PVA EXPO in Prague from May 12-14.
Anderson ended his three-year wait for a PDC ranking title with victory at Players Championship 8 on Monday, and he maintained his winning run with a series of superb displays in Germany.
The Scot recorded successive 6-2 wins against Jacques Labre and Brian Raman to secure his place in Wieze, before producing 103 averages to demolish John O’Shea and Stephen Burton in the ET8 Qualifier.
Anderson was one of nine players to complete a qualification double on Tuesday, with former Grand Slam champion Jose de Sousa enjoying a timely return to form.
De Sousa averaged 107 in his ET7 qualification decider against Pascal Rupprecht, before brushing aside Jose Justicia and Nick Fullwell to book his place in Prague.
European Champion Ross Smith and three-time European Tour event winner Ian White also came through both events, as did Dutch duo Richard Veenstra and Martijn Kleermaker.
Irish newcomer Dylan Slevin completed his second straight qualification double, with former World Youth Champion Bradley Brooks and Canada’s Matt Campbell the other players to make it through both events.
Premier League star Chris Dobey was among the high-profile names to seal his spot in Wieze, winning through the ET7 Qualifier along with ten-time TV title winner James Wade.
Five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld also booked his place in Belgium, alongside a resurgent Krzysztof Ratajski and Keane Barry, who averaged 111 in whitewashing Krzysztof Kciuk.
Daryl Gurney also averaged 106 and 99 to qualify for his seventh consecutive European Tour event, only for Slevin to end the Northern Irishman’s remarkable run in the ET8 Qualifier.
Czech star Karel Sedlacek was among the 24 players to prevail in the ET8 Qualifier, defeating Luke Woodhouse, Cameron Menzies and Steve Lennon to confirm his return to home soil.
Belgian duo Dimitri Van den Bergh and Kim Huybrechts also won through Tuesday’s final qualifier, alongside former Lakeside Championship winners Stephen Bunting and Steve Beaton.
Simon Whitlock and Gabriel Clemens missed out in both qualifiers, while 2021 World Champion Gerwyn Price chose not to compete in Tuesday’s double-header.
