PAUL NICHOLSON'S lead at the top of the Australian Grand Prix Order of Merit has extended after he won both tournaments staged by the DPA over the weekend.
Nicholson was victorious at the Young RSL Club double-header.
He defeated Rod Crawford 6-1 in the final of Saturday's event, winning four straight legs to storm to the win.
Nicholson, who was born in the UK, also overcame Colin Edwards, Paul Neighbour and Dean McGladdery in the latter stages.
He was also a comprehensive victor in Sunday's tournament, overcoming Daniel Sim 6-1 in the final thanks to three maximums and a hat-trick of 14-darters.
Nicholson also failed to drop a leg in his route from the last 16 to the final, against Bobby Holder, Craig Strooisma and Phil Bottrell.
Both Nicholson and Sunday's runner-up Sim will receive free travel from the DPA to the Viva Las Vegas event in New Zealand in May - which offers players a chance to win a place at the Las Vegas Desert Classic this summer.
