AGP Wins for Galvez & Aitken

ARNEL GALVEZ and Bill Aitken were the first two winners of the Puma Australian Grand Prix season at the Revesby Working Mens Club.

Galvez made a perfect start to the 2011 DartPlayers Australia circuit, overcoming Steve Duke 6-4 in the final of Saturday's tournament.

He also defeated former Oceanic Masters champion Barry Jouannet and 2006 AGP winner Anthony Fleet in the latter stages of the event.

Jon Bunyard joined Fleet in the semi-finals, while Jouannet, Russell Stewart, Sean Reed and Mick Parker were quarter-finalists - with Parker's only leg in a 6-1 loss to Fleet coming courtesy of a 170 finish.

Galvez lost in the last 32 of Sunday's event, which was won by Bill Aitken thanks to a 6-2 defeat of Fleet in the final.

Sean Reed and Jeremy Fagg reached the semis, while Jouannet made the last eight for the second successive day, alongside Alex Martin, Paul Neighbour and Steve Duke, who followed up his run to the final with a quarter-final appearance.
