THE Betway Premier League Judgement Night was effectively the halfway point of the 2016 season, so we decided to look at some of the key stats from the opening nine weeks of the tournament.
Phil Taylor sits a point clear of Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson at the top of the league table after his victory over Michael Smith in Cardiff last Thursday, with his rivals both drawing at the Motorpoint Arena.
However, world number one van Gerwen has topped many of the statistics categories following the opening nine weeks of the season, which have seen the ten stars face each other once before Smith and Dave Chisnall were eliminated after Judgement Night.
Chisnall has recorded more 180s than any other player in the opening nine weeks with 37, two ahead of van Gerwen, but the St Helens ace has crucially the second-lowest doubling percentage (36%), while Smith's 37% checkout ratio also not enough to save him from exiting the event.
Taylor's tally of seven 180s in his clash against Chisnall in Aberdeen is the highest by an individual in a match so far this season, ahead of van Gerwen's six against Anderson in Newcastle and Chisnall's six in reply against Taylor.
Van Gerwen, though, has the highest overall average of the ten players (107.62) following nine games, and has recorded four of the top five individual match averages this season, including his televised world record of 123.40 against Smith in Aberdeen.
The Dutchman's 52% checkout ratio is the Betway Premier League's highest at present, with the 2013 champion having landed 57 of 109 attempts at a double, with Taylor's 48% being the next-best finishing, while van Gerwen's 23 Legs Won Against Throw is more breaks than any of his rivals.
Van Gerwen is also the only player to achieve a 170 finish so far this season, and he has also landed a 167 finish to eclipse the best efforts of his challengers, with Raymond van Barneveld (twice), James Wade and Peter Wright taking out 161.
Wade and van Barneveld have 11 ton-plus checkouts apiece so far this season, with Taylor and van Gerwen having landed nine each during the opening stage of the campaign.
