'Big Night' Ahead For Chisnall

DAVE CHISNALL admits that he is set for a "big night" when he takes on reigning Betway Premier League champion Gary Anderson at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Thursday.

The pair last met on the Premier League stage in the 2015 semi-finals, when Chisnall missed his chance to book a spot in the final during a dramatic ending to their thrilling contest.

Thursday's clash in Liverpool sees Chisnall fighting for his Premier League life after a four-game losing run left him in the midst of the elimination battle alongside Michael Smith and Robert Thornton.

St Helens-born Chisnall, though, is aiming to rise to the occasion on his 'home' Premier League night at the Echo Arena.

"I have played Gary a few times already this year, so I know what he is capable of but I'm looking forward to it," Chisnall told the Liverpool Echo.

"With the venue being closer to home I'll have a few more friends and family there, but it is always great to play in front of a big crowd in Liverpool.

"It's a big night, but they all are at the moment after the start I have made. I have been going into the games feeling confident and playing, but just not finishing them off.

"It's disappointing, but the others have been playing well too. I have even lost a game with an average of 109 in the Premier League this year. The standard of play is just getting higher all the time, and not just in the Premier League but amongst the other players and the youth players.

"There is a bit of pressure pu there, and you know that it only takes one mistake to let in your opponent. But I will be going out to do my best and hopefully that will be enough to get two more points."
