China: It's In My Hands

BARRY JOUANNET kept alive his hopes of qualifying for the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship with victory in the Australian Grand Prix event this weekend.

Jouannet went into the tournament at Condobolin in New South Wales knowing that current AGP standings leader Anthony Fleet needed just one more win to seal his place at the Circus Tavern.

Fleet, though, was knocked out by Jouannet at the quarter-final stage, with "China" going on to take victory against Peter Corcoran in the final.

There are just two remaining AGP tournaments remaining this year, with the leading player in the table winning that coveted World Championship spot.

"I want this more than anything," said Jouannet, who has twice played at Purfleet already.

"Fleety is a greta player and certainly the one to beat, but I'm not going down without a fight.

"I'm going to come out all guns blazing in the last two events. I missed out to Brian Roach last year in the AGP and to Warren Parry at the Oceanic Masters but this will be my year!"
