Lloyd: "I'll Bounce Back"

COLIN LLOYD has vowed to bounce back from his disappointing defeat to Phil Taylor in the final of the Sky Bet World Grand Prix.

Lloyd saw his hopes of retaining the title crushed by Taylor with a 7-1 defeat at Dublin's Citywest Hotel on Sunday.

It was the second major final of the year that he has lost to Taylor, but is confident that he will regain his form for December's Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.

"Write me off at your own peril," said Lloyd. "Phil thrashed me and I don't mind admitting that - he butchered me.

"I give him all the respect he deserves but if you want to write me off come the World Championship then be it on your own head - Jaws will bite back and I will bit back with venom.

"I'm not happy with the way I've played this week, in fact I'm very disappointed, but it will come back and when it does come back, watch out.

"I will move on and this tournament is over now. I've been beaten by the better player and I will move on now and do what I have to do to win the next tournament.

"I think it's got to the point now where I maybe need a break to recharge the batteries."

Lloyd said throughout the World Grand Prix that he was unhappy with his form, and he revealed his disappointment that he failed to raise his game in the final.

"I was not good enough," he said. "There was nothing there.

"I was trying to find it, trying to battle and stay in there and he blitzed me. He did what he had to do and the bottom line is that I wasn't good enough.

"I expected a lot more of myself and I'm very, very disappointed. I haven't played well all week.

"Phil played solid darts and he has ended up taking my title, but he hasn't played the best of Colin Lloyd tonight.

"I'm not going to take anything away from Phil but at this moment in time I'm very disappointed."
