THE PDC sends its condolences to the family of PDPA member Mike Herold, who passed away last weekend.
Mike, from Germany, was a regular contender in PDC tournaments on the continent until earlier this year, when illness prevented him from competing.
He lost his battle with cancer on Sunday.
Mike had reached 263rd place in the PDC Order of Merit, last winning prize money in the 2008 German Darts Championship, where he lost to Terry Jenkins in the last 64.
"Mike was a nice man and fair sportsman, who loved darts," said a PDC Europe spokesman.
"PDC Europe grieves for a companion, and we wish his family much strength during this difficult time."
