Part Making Poker Challenge

JOHN PART has won through to Day Two of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Part lost out in the first round of the PartyPoker.net Las Vegas Desert Classic last week, but his time in Nevada was a success away from the oche.

He was entered by sponsors Ladbrokes Poker into the World Series of Poker at the Rio Hotel, and won through Day One of the tournament - which featured over 6,000 players.

Part returns to Las Vegas on Wednesday to compete in Thursday's Day Two-B, and is hoping to progress to Day Three as the event begins to whittle down to the top players, with the last 666 poker stars earning prize money.

Should the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Champion win a place in the big-money nine-man Final Table, he would then compete in November, with the overall World Series of Poker champion taking a $9,119,517 first prize.

Following his next outing in Las Vegas, Part will travel to the UK to compete in the Stan James World Matchplay from July 20-26, where he has drawn Chris Mason in the first round.
