Players Championship Finals On PDCtv

THE PDC will break new ground at the Players Championship Finals from February 3-6, when the event becomes the first of the PDC's Premier events to be broadcast solely live online.

Coverage of the £250,000 tournament, to be held from February 3-6 at the Doncaster Dome, will be shown worldwide through the PDC's official website, www.pdc.tv, to PDCtv Subscribers - who can see the whole event for as little as £6.99!

The innovative broadcast will be produced by PERFORM, who already stream the highly successful Championship League Darts as well as providing worldwide coverage of other major PDC events through PDCtv.

The Players Championship Finals will feature the leading 32 players from the 2010 Players Championship Order of Merit, comprised of prize money won in the 37 one-day tournaments held around the world last year.

Simon Whitlock was the Order of Merit winner after picking up six tournament victories, making him the number one seed for the Players Championship Finals, where he takes on Tony Eccles, who finished 32nd in the Order of Merit.

Number two seed Gary Anderson plays Justin Pipe, Colin Lloyd plays Jelle Klaasen and Phil Taylor - the 2009 Players Championship Finals winner - meets Steve Brown.

World Champion Adrian Lewis, world number three James Wade and Yorkshire's two-time World Champion Dennis Priestley are other stars competing in the Players Championship Finals.

"The Players Championship Finals is an exciting and fast-paced event which has proven highly popular in its first two years," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.

"The ground-breaking live streaming of the Players Championship Finals will allow fans around the world to see live coverage of the very best players competing over four days.

"This production further strengthens our partnership with PERFORM, who have proven themselves as world leaders in providing online broadcasting and will now stream a major darts championship in its entirety for the first time."

PERFORM joint-CEO Oliver Slipper said: "We're very excited to be partnering with the PDC, who are once again pushing the boundaries and exploiting the opportunities provided by the internet to ensure their fans around the world can follow the progress of their favourite players at this years' Players Championship Finals."
