ROLAND SCHOLTEN and Veijo Viinikka have qualified for the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.
Scholten, who has dropped out of the world's top 32 in the past couple of years after battling a shoulder injury, came through the West European Qualifier held in Spain on Saturday.
The Dutchman, who opted to compete in Spain instead of at the PDPA Qualifier on November 29, was a 6-4 winner against Armando Jesus Jiminez in the final.
He also overcame Manolo Vilerio, Martin Marti and Julio Barbero in the latter stages as he ensured a return to the Alexandra Palace stage next month.
Jiminez overcame Spanish star Carlos Rodriguez 6-5 in the last 16, while last year's Spanish representative at the World Championship, Francisco Ruiz, lost the at same stage.
Meanwhile, Veijo Viinikka won the Finnish Qualifier, defeating Sami Sanssi in the final.
Last year's Finnish representative, Jarkko Komula, was a quarter-final loser in his bid to return to Alexandra Palace.
Further qualifying events will be held in Germany, China and Russia for the remaining three places amongst the international qualifiers for the World Championship.
Next weekend also sees the final two Players Championships take place in Derby, with 16 qualifiers to come from the Players Championship Order of Merit and be joined by one plyer from the PDPAP Qualifier on Monday November 29.
