Adam Sevada created Championship Darts Corporation history in Chicago last weekend, winning back-to-back titles to extend his lead at the top of the 2025 CDC rankings.
Sevada claimed back-to-back titles in Ontario last month, and he continued from where he left off in Chicago, as Events 5-7 took place from July 12-13.
The 39-year-old sealed the Event Five title with a dramatic 7-6 victory over Jim Long, who reeled off five straight legs from 5-1 down to threaten a remarkable comeback.
Sevada also overcame former UK Open runner-up Gary Mawson in the semi-finals, having edged out David Cameron in another last-leg decider in the quarter-finals.
He then clinched his fourth consecutive crown with Event Six success on Sunday, winning through a hard-fought clash against Doug Boehm to take the title.
This was preceded by a 7-5 victory over Ram Guevara Jr in the semi-finals, while he also denied Cameron and US Darts Masters quarter-finalist Jason Brandon on his way to glory.
Sevada’s record-breaking 28-match winning run in CDC competition was eventually halted by Mawson in the Event Seven semi-finals, although it was Stowe Buntz who clinched the title.
The former Grand Slam quarter-finalist ran out an emphatic 7-3 winner against Mawson, converting 95, 100 and 144 checkouts to claim his seventh CDC ProTour title.
Buntz also conceded just three legs in progressing to the semi-finals, before winning through a deciding-leg affair against Danny Young in the last four.
Sevada boasts a sizeable lead at the top of the CDC Order of Merit following Event Seven, with Buntz in second spot above CDC Cross-Border Challenge winner Leonard Gates.
The year’s fourth weekend of action will take place next month, as Events 8-10 are held in Indiana from August 1-3.
