JEFFREY DE ZWAAN and Rusty-Jake Rodriguez both enjoyed maiden triumphs on the PDC Unicorn Development Tour in Hildesheim on Sunday.

Dutch talent De Zwaan claimed his first title by winning Event 11 before 16-year-old Rodriguez scooped the £2,000 first prize in Event 12 at Halle 39.

De Zwaan, who has already appeared in the World Championship, UK Open and European Championship, finally tasted glory in a Development Tour tournament by defeating Adam Smith-Neale in the final of the day's first event.

The 21-year-old began his campaign with wins against Marc Legant and Arcangelo Tardio, losing just one leg before seeing off Rodriguez 4-2.

He then defeated Rhys Griffin 4-1 to reach the quarter-finals, where he overcame Mike Zuydwijk with a 5-3 success.

De Zwaan edged out Canada's Dawson Murschell 5-4 to book his place in the decider, where he sealed glory with a 5-2 defeat of Smith-Neale.

Rodriguez bounced back from his earlier loss at the hands of eventual Event 11 winner De Zwaan by taking victory in Sunday's second event, defeating Harry Ward in the final.

The Austrian youngster - who is the brother of former World Youth Championship finalist Rowby-John Rodriguez - opened with a whitewash win against Kevin Troppmann.

He then enjoyed another 4-0 victory, this time against the winner of Saturday's first event Luke Humphries, before edging out Danny Key 4-3.

Rodriguez claimed his third 4-0 win of the tournament as he saw off Benjamin Drue Reus to reach the quarter-finals, where he defeated Conor Maes 5-1.

A 5-4 victory over Ted Evetts booked Rodriguez's place in the decider and he wrapped up the title with a 5-1 success against Ward.

Ward defeated Shaun Lovett, David Carr, Zuydwijk, Maikel Verberk, Smith-Neale and Saturday's other winner, Mike van Duivenbode, to reach the final.

Smith-Neale - a former Development Tour winner in Germany - had earlier seen off Robin Hyna, Patrick van den Boogaard, Evetts, Brandon Walsh, Justin van Tergouw and Bradley Kirk in his run to the final of Event 11.

This year's fourth weekend of Development Tour action will take place on September 16-17 in Barnsley, when a £10,000 prize fund will again be on offer in each of four events played over two days.
