ET10-11 UK Qualifier

PDC

FIVE PLAYERS, including recent PDC ProTour title winners Darren Webster and Steve Beaton, secured places at both the HappyBet German Darts Grand Prix and HappyBet International Darts Open in Friday's UK Qualifier double-header in Barnsley, where two nine-darters were produced.

BetVictor World Matchplay quarter-finalist Webster continued his superb form by winning four matches to qualify for both European Tour events, seeing off Luke Woodhouse and Matthew Dennant in the first knockout before defeating Ronnie Baxter and Kevin Painter in the second event - incredibly sealing both of his final victories with 170 finishes.

Former European Tour title winner Beaton claimed victories against Richie Burnett and Lee Bryant to secure his place in Mannheim before triumphs over Matt Clark and Andy Boulton earned the former Lakeside Champion a place in Riesa.

Australia's Kyle Anderson achieved double qualification by seeing off Paul Harvey and Andy Jenkins in the opening event before defeating Jim Brown and Mickey Mansell, who hit a nine-dart finish in his win against Darren Johnson that saw him qualify for the German Darts Grand Prix.

Keegan Brown's three victories to qualify for European Tour Ten included 6-5 wins against Wayne Jones and Kevin Painter, while a pair of 6-1 successes against Michael Barnard and Robert Thornton saw the former PDC Unicorn World Youth Champion reach the International Darts Open.

Mick McGowan also secured his place at both events by claiming victories against Matt Clark, Brendan Dolan, Ross Twell and Matthew Dennant.

Former European Tour finalists Jamie Caven and Jamie Lewis both qualified for the German Darts Grand Prix and will be joined in Mannheim by Robert Owen, Andy Boulton, Jamie Bain, Andrew Gilding, Paul Rowley, Mick Todd, Nathan Aspinall, James Richardson, Richard North and Ryan Meikle.

The qualifier for the International Darts Open saw a second nine-darter of the evening fired in, as Rob Hewson produced a perfect leg in his defeat to Caven.

Former World Championship finalist Andy Hamilton was also amongst the qualifiers in the evening's second event, defeating Stephen Bunting 6-0 and Ricky Williams 6-1 to earn his place in Riesa.

Former European Tour winner Justin Pipe also won through with victories against Aden Kirk and Gilding - who was denied a double success in a last-leg decider.

Ted Evetts, who turned 20 on Thursday, gave himself a late birthday present by seeing off Chris Dobey and Lee Bryant to secure a spot in European Tour Event 11.

The other qualifiers for the International Darts Open were former Lakeside Champion Mark Webster, William O'Connor, Chris Quantock, Josh Payne, Richie Corner, Peter Jacques, Simon Stevenson, Steve Lennon, Luke Woodhouse and former World Grand Prix finalist Brendan Dolan.

The HappyBet German Darts Grand Prix takes place in Mannheim between September 8-10, with the HappyBet International Darts Open following later in the month in Riesa on September 22-24.

The weekend in Barnsley continues with two Players Championship events on Saturday and Sunday (12pm start), with coverage streamed live online from two boards simultaneously throughout each event for PDCTV-HD Subscribers worldwide.
