AGP Double For Whitlock

SIMON WHITLOCK completed an Australian Grand Prix double by winning Sunday's Goulburn Workers Club Open.

Whitlock had celebrated his return to the DPA circuit with victory in Saturday's tournament, and completed a successful weekend with the win on Sunday.

He defeated Russell Stewart, last year's Oceanic Masters winner, 7-2 in the final to claim a second $1,000 prize of the weekend.

Whitlock was a 6-4 semi-final winner against Rod Crawford, and whitewashed Mike Merz and Kevin Luland in the knockout stages.

The $2,000 won over the weekend sees Whitlock jump to fourth on the DPA Order of Merit, only $800 behind current leader Paul Nicholson.

Stewart was a 6-3 winner against Saturday's runner-up Steve MacArthur in the semi-finals, and overcame Barry Jourannet in a deciding leg in the last eight.
