South African Masters Info

THE 2010 South African Masters will be held on Saturday September 25 at the S.P.R.A. Hall in Athlone, Cape Town.

The South African Masters is a tournament only open to South African players, offering the winner a place in the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace in December.

Previously won by Wynand Havenga, Charles Losper and Les Francis (pictured), the tournament switches from Johannesburg to be held in Cape Town this year.

Players will compete for four hours on the day in 'Saturday Frenzy' in a bid to record a leg of 501 in the fewest number of darts, before the top eight progress to the knockout stage to play for the title.

While the winner will represent South Africa in the World Championship, the runner-up will take home R10,000, the losing semi-finalists will win R5,000 and the quarter-finalists earn R2,500 each.

Entries can be made via Jon McGowan on 082-8736046. Entry costs R150 per player.
