JAMES WADE is hoping to claim his first points of the McCoy's Premier League Darts season when he meets Kevin Painter on Thursday night.
The 2009 Premier League champion has lost his opening three matches this season, suffering defeats to Andy Hamilton, Simon Whitlock and Gary Anderson.
He has also been a slow starter in the past two years of the Premier League before going on to reach the 2010 final and miss out on the Play-Offs by just a point last year, despite being bottom after eight weeks.
However, Wade is desperate to regain the form which took him to the World Championship semi-finals two months ago when he takes on Painter at the Westpoint Arena in Exeter.
"I reached the final in 2010 and didn't win any of my first five games, but it would be nice just to have a win," said Wade.
"I can't keep playing so badly, it's awful, but I don't think I've played at my 'best' since 2009. I'm not happy with the angles that my darts are going in.
"It's a frustrating start. I'm under-achieving and it's annoying. I'm a country mile better than I'm showing."
