ADRIAN LEWIS admits that his chances of reaching the McCoy's Premier League Darts Play-Offs are 'a big doubt' after losing half of his opening six games this season.
The World Champion had been the runner-up in last year's Premier League and came into this season on a high following his triumph in the World Cup alongside Phil Taylor.
He enjoyed a fine start with a top-quality display in drawing with Taylor in Manchester on the opening week of the Premier League season - but drew his next two matches and has now lost his last three.
The Stoke ace sits bottom of the table on leg difference from Andy Hamilton, but is crucially three points behind the top four approaching the half-way stage of the season.
"The Play-Offs are a big doubt in my mind, obviously," he said. "I'm not performing, I'm very inconsistent but I'll get back on the practice board and try to work my way to the consistency which took me to two World titles.
"Everybody goes through a slump and it's one of those times for me at the moment, but I'll be back - I'm not two-time World Champion for nothing."
Lewis lost 8-5 to James Wade in Glasgow last week, hitting five out of six darts at a double and four from as many attempts at tops.
Despite also hitting seven 180s, Lewis was out-scored by Wade and admitted: "I'm going 180 and then 60, but I was happy with my finishing in Glasgow, it was better compared to the past three or four weeks.
"I'm going through a rough patch and everybody can see that. A lot of my darts were on the wire and didn't go in, and I've got to take the rough with the smooth, and hopefully my luck will change."
Lewis plays Kevin Painter on Thursday as the McCoy's Premier League Darts visits The O2 in Dublin for the first time.
Reigning Premier League champion Gary Anderson plays Raymond van Barneveld, unbeaten league leader Taylor meets Wade and Hamilton plays Simon Whitlock.
