Speedy Building Up For Qualifiers

THE Speedy Qualifiers for the Speedy Services UK Open begin this week - giving amateur darts players the chance to win their spot alongside the sport's top names in June's televised finals.

A total of 32 places will be on offer through the Speedy Qualifiers for amateurs to win through to the Speedy Services UK Open, with six qualifying tournaments being held during April.

The first will be held at the Speedy Brighton depot on Newtown Road, Hove on Wednesday April 4, with the second taking place at the Speedy Dartford store on Questor Industrial Estate, Butterly Avenue, Dartford on Thursday April 5.

The events will continue in Inverness on April 11, Leeds on April 12, Stoke on April 13 and in Cardiff on April 19 before Speedy stage an employees-only Qualifier in Haydock on May 4.

At each event, the Qualifier will be staged in two parts; firstly players will throw 15 darts to achieve a cumulative score, before the players with the eight highest scores compete in four knockout games to determine the players who progress to play in Bolton.

2011 UK Open semi-finalist and former World Champion Mark Webster will be attending each of the Speedy Qualifiers in his role as Speedy Ambassador, offering advice and tips to amateur hopefuls looking to win their place in the UK Open televised finals.

The Speedy Services UK Open Qualifiers will be held on the following dates:
Wednesday April 4 - Brighton
Thursday April 5 - Dartford
Wednesday April 11 - Inverness
Thursday April 12 - Leeds
Friday April 13 - Stoke
Thursday April 19 - Cardiff
Friday May 4 - Haydock
