MONEY ON WHITLOCK FAIRYTALE AT SYDNEY DARTS MASTERS
SIMON WHITLOCK will fly the flag for Australia at the final night of the Sydney Darts Masters at Luna Park - and tab.com.au look at the odds ahead of the tournament's final stages.
The world number four is $3.15 to beat World Champion Phil "The Power" Taylor ($1.35) in their semi-final, in what will be the biggest showdown of the tournament so far.
Whitlock, who opened $11, is now $5 to win the tournament and will no doubt be boosted by a vocal home crowd.
"The Sydney Darts Masters has already attracted plenty of interest at tab.com.au, but tonight is what many have been waiting for," said TAB's Matt Jenkins.
"Whitlock is a name Australians associate with darts and it is great he has made it to the final four.
"Many believe he can go all the way and he has been popular to beat Taylor and also win the tournament."
Michael van Gerwen was installed the outright tournament favourite on Saturday morning; he is $1.50 to beat Adrian Lewis ($2.55).
