BROTHERLY love will be forgotten as Kim and Ronny Huybrechts clash at the William Hill Grand Slam of Darts on Thursday night.
The Belgian duo will become the first brothers to face off in a televised darts match at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall in the second round of the Grand Slam.
Elder brother Ronny, 47, has been the tournament's surprise package so far, defeating Adrian Lewis, Christian Kist and Richie George to top his group in the round-robin stage.
With younger brother Kim, who turns 28 on Saturday, finishing second to Michael van Gerwen in his group, the pair's destiny was set for a clash at the Wolves Civic.
"In one way it's a dream come true," said Kim, who has moved up to 12th in the world rankings this year. "One of us will be in the quarter-finals, so the family will be happy.
"Before the tournament when people ask who you don't want to play, a lot of people would say Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis or James Wade, but I would say Ronny.
"I'm really happy to have got through but I've got to play my worst possible opponent and I'll try to make the most of it. I'll prepare as if he's any other opponent and when I'm on the stage I just want to beat whoever is in front of me.
"I love my brother to bits and he's my best friend, and I'd do anything for him - but when we get up on stage he will be my biggest enemy!"
The pair teamed up to reach the 2013 World Cup of Darts final for Belgium but have only faced each other once since Ronny turned professional at the start of the year, when the elder brother averaged 108 in a 6-1 Players Championship victory in Wigan in May.
"I won last time we played and I'm going to do it again on Thursday!" said Ronny. "To play Kim is a game that I didn't want, but at the same time I want to win it and obviously I believe I can win it.
"It's very special, and when I think that I've only been a professional this year, to achieve what I have is a dream and it's very special to travel around the world with my brother and share these wonderful experiences.
"To finish top in a group which includes two World Champions is very nice and I didn't expect to win all three games, so I'm really happy."
Tournament sponsors William Hill make Kim the 1/3 favourite to win the game, with Ronny 12/5.
