XIAOCHEN ZONG and Chengan Liu have won the latest two stages of the PDC-affiliated circuit in China, as the race for places in the William Hill World Darts Championship continues.
Zong, 18 from Liaoning, secured a place in the PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship when he won Stage Eight in the seaside town of Qingdao at the end of July.
After coming through a round-robin group stage, Zong then defeated Bo Ding, Yuanfan Yang, Xuanyuan Zhang and Luming Zhao as he took the win.
Zong also reached the Last 16 of Stage Nine in Shenyang on August 27, which was won by Chengan Liu - who competed for China a decade ago at the World Championship and missed out on the Shanghai Darts Masters earlier this year when a delayed train meant that he missed the start of the qualifiers.
However, after making it to Shenyang in time for Stage Nine he defeated Bo Qu, Zhuo Tian, Wenge Xie, Bin Zheng and Zhipeng Fan before coming from a Set down to win the final against Yuanjun Liu 2-1.
Stages Nine to 12 on the Chinese circuit will count towards places in the 32-player World Championship Qualifier, with the top 28 players from those four events joined by two players from the World Youth Championship Qualifier and two female players from an event to be held on October 29.
