MICHAEL VAN GERWEN and James Wade will return to action on the PDC European Tour at the HappyBet European Darts Trophy this weekend, but Daryl Gurney again misses out due to a broken finger on his throwing hand.
Van Gerwen and Wade - who have both enjoyed European Tour success this year - missed last week's HappyBet International Darts Open through injury and illness respectively.
The pair are both back in action at the RWE Arena in Muelheim, Germany, this weekend in the year's eighth £115,000 PDC European Tour event.
However, Daryl Gurney - who had to withdraw from last week's event due to a broken finger on his throwing hand - has also pulled out of the Muelheim event after failing to recover, with the UK Qualifier set to be replaced by a fifth Host Nation Qualifier.
Thursday evening saw five German players - Martin Schindler, Kevin Munch, Justin Webers, Jyhan Artut and Max Hopp - come through the Host Nation Qualifier, with the main event commencing on Friday as the 32 qualifiers face off.
The 16 seeded players then enter the action in Saturday's second round, with Sunday seeing the third round in the afternoon session before the culmination on Sunday evening with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.
