Luke Humphries has been trimmed into 4/1 from 11/2 to claim a second BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix title after he saw off Nathan Aspinall on the tournament’s opening night in Leicester.

The 2023 champion lost just two legs against 2022 runner-up Aspinall as he began his bid to reach the World Grand Prix final for a third consecutive year, and narrowed the gap to favourite Luke Littler in the early betting.

World Champion Littler has been eased to 9/4 from 7/4 ahead of his blockbuster clash with Gian van Veen on Tuesday evening.

Stephen Bunting was also clipped into 10/1 from 12/1 following a straight-sets victory over debutant Niko Springer, while Scotsman Gary Anderson is down to 16/1 from 25/1 after getting the better of Raymond van Barneveld in a tense clash of former World Champions.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said: "Luke Humphries was already a popular pick before a dart was thrown and his opening night performance has only strengthened that support.

“The World Grand Prix clearly holds fond memories for him and punters are increasingly confident he can go all the way again."
